Template for adding Sitenotice content

<!-- NOTE: replace page content with "-" when removing notice from Wikitech -->
{{#ifeq: {{SERVERNAME}} | wikitech-static.wikimedia.org |
<!--special banner for wikitech-static-->
You are browsing a read-only backup copy of Wikitech. The primary site can be found at [https://wikitech.wikimedia.org wikitech.wikimedia.org] |

<!--normal banner for actual wikitech-->
...
}}

Use the above template when adding a Sitenotice on the main wikitech site. Having a non-empty MediaWiki:Sitenotice will override the $wgSiteNotice that is normally displayed on https://wikitech-static.wikimedia.org/ pages. --BryanDavis (talk) 23:41, 26 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

When removing the local Sitenotice content, set the page content to - so that all the things work as expected and we don't get a weird '[dismiss]' link floating all alone in the edge of the screen. --BryanDavis (talk) 23:43, 26 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Labs -> Cloud renaming

Hi BryanDavis. The message about the in-progress renaming is about to be one year old. Can it come down now? --MZMcBride (talk) 00:45, 22 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Yes, let's take it down. I'm sure most people (like me!) have learned not to see it now. I think we have renamed things at least in all the highly visible places on this wiki. --BryanDavis (talk) 08:16, 22 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Coolest Tool Award: typo 2022

@Majavah: https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=MediaWiki:Sitenotice&diff=1939052&oldid=1934807 contains a typo: it should be 2022? --Simon04 (talk) 08:57, 6 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Simon04 As far as I'm aware (and Meta seems to agree) that this one is officially the 2021 edition. Majavah (talk!) 09:49, 6 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Majavah: Sorry for being imprecise. I was referring to the "on Friday 14 January 2021" part. Simon04 (talk) 09:58, 6 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
Ah, right, thanks! Fixed. Majavah (talk!) 09:59, 6 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
