people1001 was a virtual machine running on Ganeti. It hosted the service People.wikimedia.org. All shell admin groups had access.
It has been replaced by people1002 in Phabricator:T247649 and has replaced rutherfordium in Phabricator:T210036.
Connecting
Connect to people1001 over ssh by proxying through a bastion (e.g. bast1003.wikimedia.org). As with other hosts, ensure you have ProxyJump configured in .ssh/config (see Production shell access). Then connect as follows:
